Montenegrin Army cancels participation in military exercise in Greece

The Montenegrin Army (VCG) cancelled its participation in the international air exercise “INOCHIOS 26” in Greece due to the Defence and Security Council not making a decision on the involvement of army units in international exercises and training this year. The Ministry of Defence warned that missing the exercise limits interoperability with allies, reduces training opportunities for complex missions, and negatively affects VCG’s combat readiness and Montenegro’s credibility within NATO and partner initiatives. Delays in council meetings and personnel decisions also harm officer promotions, morale, professional development, and could have financial and legal consequences. The Ministry called on Council President Jakov Milatovic to convene a session promptly to ensure operational readiness and maintain Montenegro’s international reputation.
